Careers

Work on ideas before they look obvious.

Tedious Lab is looking for builders who enjoy ambiguity, product taste, fast shipping, and the tedious work of making software actually useful.

Why join

Work across the full stack of creation.

Joining Tedious Lab is different from joining a normal startup. You may work on a sports operating system one month, a browser game the next, and an AI modernization workflow after that. The common thread is not the category. It is the craft.

We want people who can move from problem to product quickly: engineers who care about users, designers who think in systems, operators who turn chaos into process, and generalists who like building from zero.

AI age

Building in the age of AI

Tedious Lab is for builders who understand that AI changes the work but does not remove responsibility.

We expect people here to use AI aggressively: for research, prototyping, coding, design exploration, writing, testing, debugging, documentation, and internal tooling. But we also expect taste, verification, and ownership.

AI can help you move faster. It cannot care for you. It cannot decide what matters. It cannot replace the judgment that comes from talking to users, understanding a workflow, noticing what feels wrong, and staying with a product after the exciting part is over.

We are looking for people who can use AI without becoming lazy thinkers.

How we work

01

Small teams

We keep teams small so decisions stay close to the product.

02

High ownership

People are expected to notice problems, make decisions, and ship without waiting for permission on every detail.

03

User contact

Everyone should understand the people using the product.

04

Fast loops

We prefer short cycles: build, launch, measure, revise.

Who we look for

  • have built things on their own
  • use AI as leverage, not as a substitute for judgment
  • can go from question to shipped product quickly
  • can research unfamiliar sectors without waiting to be told exactly what to do
  • know how to verify AI-generated work
  • can handle unclear requirements
  • care about taste, correctness, and real user behavior
  • write clearly
  • want responsibility earlier than usual
  • can be intense without creating chaos

Who should not join

  • You need a fixed job description before you can start.
  • You want distance from users, support, operations, or product judgment.
  • You prefer polish theater over working software.
  • You dislike moving across categories when the problem calls for it.

Work with the lab to explore, validate, and potentially lead a new product direction.

Next question

Bring evidence of obsession.

A portfolio, GitHub, shipped product, design file, writing sample, community, game, tool, or messy prototype tells us more than a polished resume.
